Giving Thanks for the Journey: Heartfelt Memories from Past Adventurers

November 2024

As we approach the season of gratitude, we can’t help but reflect on the many beautiful journeys, unforgettable landscapes, and incredible people that make up Girls Only Adventure Trips. Each trip, whether it’s hiking the misty trails of the Pacific Northwest or basking in the red rocks of Utah, becomes more than just an adventure – it turns into a community experience that’s treasured long after the final goodbyes. We asked a few of our past participants to share the moments that left the biggest impact on them and why they’re grateful for the time they spent with us.

Finding My Tribe

I loved connecting with a group of women from all over the country. I was amazed at how well the group meshed and how comfortable we were with each other from day one – a true testament to our fearless leader!“— “Fall In the Olympics” Trip Participant

“I’ve struggled with making new girl friends in adulthood, and GOAT has given me the opportunity to meet new friends in my area. While we don’t all have the same interests, we do enjoy being in the great outdoors together, and it’s been fun getting to know the other women.” Local GOAT Participant

“I loved that we brought together women who didn’t really know each other and we all had a great time, sure there were moments- but overall, the shared experience was so incredibly fun! I am grateful to have met everyone and shared that time together!”“Best of Utah” Trip Participant

Bucket List Memories

“There were so many highlights to share from my Utah trip, it’s hard to pick just one! But my favorite moment was hiking The Narrows in Zion, as it’s been on my bucket list for YEARS! At first we didn’t think we’d get to hike The Narrows because of the high water levels, but fortunately, the water levels dropped just before our trip, so we could do it!”
“Best of Utah Trip Participant

“There were so many great memories and experiences! It was an extraordinary trip to Washington. I loved getting to connect with other women and seeing the beautiful sights.” – “Fall in the Olympics” Trip Participant

“I feel incredibly blessed to have lucked out with incredible weather, orca sightings, and our rainy beach walk. Everything was a delight – from Sol Duc, to Cape Flattery, and Hoh Rainforest. Views from Hurricane Ridge area were exceptional but of course I always wish we could do it all. I yearn to get back and visit the beaches and lower section of ONP. It was all unique and beautiful.” “Fall in the Olympics” Trip Participant

Laughing Until It Hurts

“My favorite memory was laughing by the fire at Wildflower, and how full of joy I felt, meeting new friends and learning more about current friends.”“Best of Utah” Trip Participant

“Even though we spent a lot of time in the car driving to different hikes and experiences, I came to love this quality time together – listening to each other’s stories, cracking jokes, and just laughing until our stomachs hurt!”“Fall in the Olympics” Trip Participant

New Experiences

“Through the Local GOAT hikes, I’ve been able to experience new things – like jumping in a (freezing!) cold alpine lake and summitting my first peak!”Local GOAT Participant
